Description and Condition
This traditional copper coal scuttle features a distinctive sloping open front, cylindrical body, and contrasting brass-toned partial lid with an arched carrying handle. Originally designed in the style of fireside coal or fuel containers, it has a warm copper finish with rich natural patina that complements rustic, farmhouse, and traditional fireplace decor. Its aged appearance makes it an attractive decorative hearth accessory or storage container.
Condition: Pre-owned condition with noticeable age-related wear, including scratches, scuffs, small dents, tarnishing, and discoloration throughout. Significant green verdigris and oxidation are present along the upper interior, rim, and around the handle attachment areas. The interior shows substantial dark staining, residue, and corrosion. The underside has extensive discoloration and surface oxidation. The brass-toned lid shows tarnishing and scratches. No obvious maker's mark is visible.
