Edward Penfield (American; 1866-1925): Painter, illustrator, lithographer; art director of Harper's, Harper's Weekly and Harper's Bazaar from 1891 to 1901; has been called the originator of the poster in America; designed all Harper's posters from 1893 to 1899.

Original lithograph from "Les Maitres de L'Affiche" series which was a lithographed series of 256 plates that reproduced the best American and European posters of the time.
