J Pouyat Limoges Floral Mayonnaise Bowl Underplate France Antique c.1900

Elegant antique Jean Pouyat Limoges porcelain mayonnaise bowl with matching underplate, made in France and retailed by J. McD. & S. Co. of Boston. The set features an intricate gold floral-and-scroll border on a creamy white ground with fine gilt edging. The underside carries the J.P. / L France factory mark together with the J. Pouyat Limoges and Boston retailer marks, consistent with early-20th-century Limoges porcelain. Historic New England documents J. McD. & S. Co. as the Boston retailer Jones, McDuffee & Stratton, which sold imported Limoges porcelain around 1900.

Condition: Good antique condition with some slight gold wear. No obvious chips, cracks, or repairs.
